While scrolling through the list of the Top 100 tools for learning, I saw there were a lot of different tools that I was already familiar with. One in particular that I found interesting was that Blackboard Learning was so far down the list, #88 while Moodle was listed as #11. During my undergrad they introduced us to Blackboard for our course management and it hosted some of our online classes. Since being in this M.A. program, Moodle is used and seems to be a lot more simplified that Blackboard was.
There were a lot of social networking and chat tools that were also included in this list. I think this is a great way for educators to collaborate ideas and discussing similar issues that they might be going through with students or within their institution. This is also a good tool for students to use to participate in class discussions or communicate amongst each other about the different class topics. This can assist with learning for students and giving them an opportunity to discuss different perspectives or experiences they might have with the topic.
