Podcasts have grown in popularity in education due to the increased usage of iPods and iPhones. Instructors that use podcasts are now able to make their lectures available to students anytime and anywhere, which becomes convenient for those who have to miss classes or those who would like to hear the lecture several times. Instructors are able to record their lectures and post them onto iTunes were students would be able to subscribe to the channels. I think this is a great example of how learning techniques are altered to adjust to the new trends in society. This makes learning more facilitating for students and gives it a new twist to help engage students. With the new innovations in technology, now students can watch video podcasts that are created by teachers which accommodates visual learning students and the ability to watch demonstrations. "Times have changed. If a teacher is really willing to reach out to students and accommodate
different learning styles, it's a great thing. Those students will have that much greater chance to
learn." (Hoagland, 2007). With the new changes in technology that are shaping our society teachers and educators have to find ways to adapt to these changes which would help students learn.
